Well, folks, I am back at it again. After getting out of the habit of writing, again, I have climbed back into the saddle and resumed working on my third book, currently titled When Gods do Meddle. This book is set on a Terra where the gods regularly take an active role in the lives of mortals. Tanara Pel is a trained assassin now working with a crew who search for magical and divinely empowered artefacts. Hired to find a tool that once belonged to Ymiron, the mad God of Night, recently freed and eager to reclaim his former dominion, Tanara and her friends find themselves hunted, caught between opposing forces, and unsure of what and who to trust their quest could spell doom, or salvation for all.
Like my first two books, this is a story that I have had in my head and I have been thinking about for years, and I am finally getting it written. I started writing, and put down the first few chapters a couple years ago and in the last couple months I have added another couple chapters to the total. I am currently working on building back up both the flow of writing and making sure that I am making time to write.
That is the biggest thing that I am working on, making the time to write. That is always what has made my writing schedule inconsistent. Between work and life and everything else I often forget to make time for this. I love writing, and I eventually want writing to be how I make a living, but it takes time and energy and sometimes time and energy are simply in short supply. This time I am taking steps to make sure that I build this habit back up, and that it sticks around. I am working on setting aside at least an hour every day that I have off to writing, and I am going to work on several projects at once, both short and long, so that if I get frustrated or bored with one then I can turn my attention to something else, and thus don’t let that dissatisfaction with what I am working on take me out of the habit.
On top of that, I am also working on taking steps to advertise myself and my writing more widely. I have always struggled with drawing attention to myself and putting myself out there, which is something that I am working on in therapy, and one of the things that I doing to work on that, is by regularly updating this website, posted about my work on Facebook, and looking for other options to do the same, such as Instagram and perhaps even Patreon or Youtube.
Stay tuned to this space for updates. Like, share, follow, and consider buying my books.
