As the company watched with rapt attention, the two forces collided in a huge press of bodies, swords, armor, and horses. Cutoff from their base of power, their avenue of retreat, and each other, the two parts of the army under the Dark Moon Banner was quickly disorganized and driven back into their camps and fortification. Some of their number rallied and struck back but the soldier’s who served Cav Badar were two well organized and disciplined for that to take effect. Tanara and the others were beginning to think that all they needed to do was wait upon the hill once the battle was over, and they could move down to the safety of Cav Badar’s forces, that is until two things happened in quick succession.

The first was that a shimmering gray-white cloud raised in, against the direction of the wind, and soon hovered directly over the unfolding battle. Maelith drew their cloak up closer around their face, and swore quietly under their breath. Their was a burst of light that came from the cloud, much as if a door was opened to reveal a brightly lit room behind, and from it poured a stream of Angelorum. Each one shone with light as if their bodies were half made of light. From their backs wings of pure light steamed and flapped. Army that shown as brightly as the rest of them, and they bore weapons of all manner, also made of pure light. They dove straight down into the quickly compacting ranks of the God of Knight’s Servants and set upon them with almost a wild abandon, or so it appeared from a distance.

They did not have time to fully appreciate this sight, because again the sound of horses riding through the forest behind them caught their attention. This time all of their attention. Looking back, they could see the rustle of branch and twig, and Maelith reported that they could just make out a number of black clad riders approaching the summit of the hill. As they looked backward, the figure that seemed to be the leader of the riders, with its eyeless silver engraved black mask, rode almost leisurely onto the top of the hill that was just to their south. Both the company, and the rider, stared at each other from a distance for a long moment.

Hope you have a wonderful day when you are reading this, you get the chance to do or something creative, and I’ll catch you on the next one!
