Good Evening! I had another good day of writing today, a little bit longer than I anticipated, but I am still pleased with what I did today. I am hoping another day or two of writing I will be able to knock out another chapter.

Tanara stepped up on the bank of the river, regarded Maelith for a long moment, and then turned to stand beside them to take in the scenery before them. This had become something of a daily ritual. Occasionally they spoke, but mostly they just stood, and watched. Tanara saw a shifting beside her, signaling that this was going to be a day where they talked.

“Fla’ana and Varna have returned and I am told we are expected to dine together this evening. Varna would not say what about but I suspect that now that you have healed, we are to return to the mortal world,” said Maelith, quietly.

Tanara glanced over and saw that Maelith was now studying her for a reaction. Tanara turned fully towards them. “I am not surprised, Fla’ana mentioned when she was last here that her fellow deities were not happy about her sheltering us.”

“Where will we go?”

Tanara gave a sad smile and turned back to the pond and flowing river. “I don’t know. I am not sure what place or role either of us could possibly have.”

Maelith nodded but did not respond. Tanara still did not feel as loose as she wished she did, so after stretching her limbs a little bit, she turned toward Maelith again and asked, “before we dine with our host, would you care to spar with me?”

Maelith arched an eyebrow and regarded Tanara. They said at last, “are you sure you wish to do that?”

Tanara nodded. “Yes, it has been some time since I have had the chance to practice against an opponent. I could use it to help get back to myself.”

Maelith was silent, but an incline of the head indicated their assent, and they followed Tanara out onto the stones in the river. Tanara turned to see that Maelith had stopped some 20 paces behind her, and had a tonfa in each hand. Tanara took a deep breath, matched eyes with Maelith, and after a nod of ready from each of the, Tanara darted forward.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, get the chance to do or experience sometimes creative, and I’ll catch you on the next one!
