Good Evening! I hope that this has been a Terrific Tuesday for all of you! I managed to get a nice bit of writing done this evening and had a better flow than when I was writing yesterday. Pretty typical ebb and flow of a week.

By the afternoon, they were starting to emerge from wilderness and were starting to pass the various farms and small villages that supported the nearby city. Being early spring and the planting season, there were a large number of people in the fields and there was a fresh green and the first colorful flowers of spring all around. The work that all they passed were doing gave them the advantage of being little paid attention to, there was too much for the framers to do to pay any mind to the hooded travelers on horseback making their way towards Valkas Cor, as many travelers were.
Even knowing that they would likely be of little interest to the people they passed, they still did what they could to steer clear of villages, roads, and the farms. They did not know how widely information about them had been passed around and who might be watching for them. They camped for the night in a small woods between two villages. There did not seem to be anyone in the woods, so they allowed themselves as small fire, but they kept a careful watch at night and left at the first hint of dawn creeping over the horizon in case they should be happened upon by hunters.
The following day passed much the same, although the settlements were growing larger and more frequent. As tempted as they were to rush onward, they knew it would draw too much attention to them, so they once more kept an even pace. Around mid-afternoon, they came into site of Valkas Cor. Something seemed different about the city than when they had been there nearly a year previously. The three peaks seemed grimmer and there were military banners atop each. Maelith was able to see that many of the gates, normally left wide open, were barred and those that were not were well guarded and travelers searched. Floating above the city was a white cloud from which light seemed to emanate, floated, stationary, above the city.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, you have the chance to do or experience something creative, and I’ll catch you on the next one.
