Tanara took a few steps away and leaned on the edge of Wendon’s desk, “have you ever heard of a crystal sword hidden somewhere on this continent?”

Wendon looked slightly puzzled, “a crystal sword?”

“Yes, it is said to be a weapon of light. I am hoping to use it to break the power of the God of Night and end this war without all the bloodshed stopping him usually takes.”

“Crystal sword,” Wendon repeated, head cocked to the side. His head occasionally switching the side it was tilting toward, Wendon began to pace the room, muttering to himself. “Crystal sword. . .crystal sword. . .crystal sword. . .”

“Have you heard of it? Maelith prompted after a moment.

This seemed to startle Wendon out of his pacing, “I know nothing about any such thing, although I feel like I came across those words in a very, very old manuscript. How did you hear about it?”

“Fla’ana told us,” responded Tanara. “I was insistent upon finding some way of stopping Ymiron and shortening this war, and finally she relented and offered it as a possibility. She said it was very powerful and hidden in the tomb of an ancient warrior. She did not know more than that, not even where it was buried.”

“Seems an odd thing to volunteer, especially with so little information. Do you trust her?”

Tanara took a deep breath. “I don’t think she was lying about the weapons existence, but especially after our experience with Benan Veo, I cannot say with any confidence that it is not some form of trick, trap, or manipulation. Fla’ana has been kinder to us than I imagine any other of the divinities of this world would likely be.”

Wendon nodded to this. “I suppose so.”

The mage began to pace the room once more, muttering to himself. This went on for several minutes before the man suddenly turned back to them. “The Diary of Daeragh, that’s in. It has to be the Diary of Daeragh that I read the mention of a crystal sword in.”

Tanara stood up straight, “is that something you can get us?”

Wendon broke into a wide grin, “I can, I know exactly where it is stored, and I think it will not take long to get to.”

I hope you all have a fabulous day, get the chance to do or experience something creative, and I’ll catch you on the next one!
